As always, mouth is watering and (in my mind) packing a bag for travel! That soup looks incredible. I can picture a late Fall or Winter day, nestled up in the cafe with healing soup, a good book (or sketchbook) reflecting on life. Thank you for a lovely escape.
What a lovely comment, Jean! I think this would be the perfect place for you to sketch, read, write, sing or simply relax and reflect. It’s that kind of magical place. Hope to get to visit someday soon.💕
Great article, Ruth! It makes me want return. We haven’t been to Mendocino for about 15 years! That healing soup looks delicious! I will attempt a version of my own!
Thanks, Susan! You should definitely go back. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and how much there was to do. I didn't even mention the great art center there where I really wanted to take classes. I think I might try to make that soup too! It was so delicious I ordered it twice and felt doubly healed!❤️
Mendocino looks perfectly delightful. It reminds me of New England too, except those beautiful blue skies seem brighter than out here in the East. I don't recall the first lady bake-offs. Interesting!
Thanks, Vicki! Actually there are quite a number of foggy days in Mendocino because of its coastal location. Sadly, like the rest of California, it’s suffering from a severe drought, though you’d never know it to look at the lush landscape!

Wow! This all sounds great! We are planning a trip up the coast later this summer and now I am sure of some stops I definitely want to make!
Thanks, Jeanne! You definitely should visit Mendocino, plus some of the many small towns and beaches nearby. There's really a lot to do and see!
I’m jealous
If you get a chance, I hope you go someday. 😊
Me too 😀

Wonderful article!
Thanks so much, Susan!
I can attest that the cookies are (were) incredible.
Thanks, Judy!
Oh no, thank you. For the cookies and the lovely article. Made me want to go there.
Wow! The way you describe this makes me want to visit and taste test my way through it all.
Thanks, Julia! You definitely should!
My Californian husband says don't tell people about Mendo... Oops. Too late.
Whoops is right, though maybe they’re lose their way en route!
😂😂😂 We could put out misleading signs that actually direct them to Fresno...
