New Mexico is special and your descriptions were vivid. Santa Fe is enchanting and life seems so in touch with the scenery. It is hard not to fall in love with the sky.
Thank you for your post and lovely pictures, Ruth! My twin sister lives in Santa Fe, and your post clearly demonstrates why she was drawn to move there.
A few years ago on our last rip to the US we had to rearrange our plans and unexpectedly ended up staying in Santa Fe and visiting Taos. It turned out to be the best diversion and we loved our stay there. Such a lot to see and to learn. Your photos bought back some wonderful memories - thank you!
Oh, you’re welcome, Julia! I hope you’re able to return someday! It’s one of those places to which you gladly return and where each time you find something new.
It’s one of the best! There’s none like it. Whenever we go, we wonder why we don’t visit more often—or don’t just pick up stakes and move there! But then we’ve thought that about several other states (and countries!) too. I guess that’s what comes of traveling! Thanks for your comment.
A visit to New Mexico is definitely on the schedule. Like Santa Fe, Taos is filled with interesting shops and historic adobes. And the Rio Grande river runs very close by, in a deep deep canyon. Beautiful mountain country and Tierra Amarilla (Yellow Country) lie a few miles to the west of Taos. Much to explore.
Taos is so gorgeous—much more than I shared in my post. The town is charming, with so many places to stroll, shop, eat or simply be. And the views over the Rio Grande are stunning, as you say, as is the surrounding country. I don’t think I have the writing or photographic skills to do it all justice. Thanks for your comment, Radaghast.
Gorgeous sun-drenched photos.! I love the wreaths with chilies and dried flowers and that they are from Pilar's garden. Thank you for the tour of New Mexico. We have family there on my husband's side but have not visited in years.
Thanks, Vicki! The wreaths were beautiful, along with so much else in Santa Fe. The art and architecture (and people!) are wonderful! You should go—I know you would love it!
Thanks, Crowden. Hmmm, maybe I’ll put your version in, along with mine and ask which is preferred. Might be less divisive than discussing the election!😅

Thanks so much, Mark! You’re right about the sky—and so much that’s there. I fall in love with Santa Fe every time we visit.

Our favourite State in the Union!
Gorgeous, Ruth. I definitely want to visit that Farmer’s Market.
Thanks, Amie! It’s really a good one! Maybe we could meet there one day!🤗

Great pictures and writing, Ruth! Looking forward to O’Keeffe! ❤️
Thanks, Jolene! She’s coming when I can focus again (I hope!) after this election.

Great images and great commentary, as usual. Except for ... that shadow! Oh my, I couldn't help myself. Worked my digital magic and ... it is gone!

I couldn't hope to take a better one than yours. All I can do is to try and enhance yours.
Aww, thanks! Well I certainly couldn’t draw a cartoon to save my life! You’re burning rubber (or maybe rubbish) with yours!
I always enjoy your articles and your photos! This one is no exception!
Thanks so very much, Leslie!🥰
Great article--fantastic pictures! Your photo technique is under-rated.
