I just published my first note on Substack Notes and would love for you to join me there! It’s an alternative to Twitter, which I seldom use. I have a few good stories in the hopper, but I’m always excited to come across new ones, especially with a food angle, whether it be a family recipe, an ancient (or new) cookbook, an off-the-beaten track bakery, a kitchen disaster, or a bit of dusty food lore. Please don’t be shy—let me know if you have an idea for a story. I’d love to connect.
When I’m not writing, I’m often taking a walk near the beach, which—lucky for me!—isn’t too far from our house. I also love to travel with my husband, Jefferson Graham, a photographer, videographer and fellow Substack blogger. Most recently we visited our son and daughter-in-law in Japan, our sixth visit—it never gets old—and, if you’re hungry, there’s an awful lot of great food! (More to come about that!)
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Ruthtalksfood Newsletter, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Ruthtalksfood Newsletter can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
